Chingay 2011 Theme song: 传灯（Chuan Deng)

This is a very special song written and composed by Singaporean in the 1980s.
This song become famous when it was sang in Malaysia. Many Cultural Events used this song as the theme song.
This year, Chingay 2011 will perform this song with special lights effect.
《传灯》是联合晚报－新明日报统筹总编辑杜南发于1982年作词、张泛作曲谱写而成。28年来在新马一代广泛流传，也是下个月年度妆艺大游行的压轴节目。

《传灯》经中国语言艺术家、中国传媒大学王明军教授改编朗诵后，现场掌声雷鸣，观众还应主持人要求，点亮500盏蜡烛形的灯，象征优良中华精神将传承下去。

王教授说，《传灯》的词令他非常感动。“感触最深的是，‘每一盏灯是一脉香火，把漫长的黑夜渐渐点亮。’我认为这象征了一种华族精神，生生不息，传承下去。”
